Links I Love

There are amazing, creative mamas out there!  Here are some tutorial links that I've tried and LOVE.  I just thought I share some other sites that I've benefited from.

Sew a fitted sheet for your crib or toddler bed. I've made a few of these out of flannel for winter and cotton for summer.  Cut to Pieces is where I found the great tutorial. I made a flat-ish sheet to add to the toddler bed when Little Man made the transition out of the crib.

How about a pillowcase to go with your new sheets?  theDIYdish.com has a clear tutorial for pillowcases with hidden seams.  These are pretty quick to make.  You do not have to add the decorative trim.  I did not and I think it still looks cute.

This handy hanging toy holder is a great idea!  It easily detaches from the crib for cleaning.  I filled mine with books and toys after the little guy fell asleep. Then, if he woke early in the morning, he had entertainment at hand.  Anything that gives me 15 more minutes of sleep is awesome!  I used velcro instead of snaps and mine is smaller so there is only one pocket.  Check out craftinessisnotoptional.com.

Crib bumpers are adorable.  Some moms feel they are unnecessary but it only took my son getting his leg stuck in the crib slats one time, in the middle of the night, for me to jump on the bumper bandwagon.  Out of concern for safety, we did not put bumpers up until our son was about 10-12 months old.  Sew4home.com has a great crib bumper tutorial.  Apparently, I did not take a picture of them when brand new but here is a rough shot. :)
