Pool Noodle Donuts

This is a really simple project, but wow did Little Man love it.  He beaded, stacked, and banged these for quite a while.  They were his favorite toys for a couple of days and he keeps going back to them.  Plus, of course, they float!  Good news for baths and pool time.

All you need is a pool noodle and a serrated knife.  Chop your noodle into rings that are about 2 inches thick.

You can add a beading element as well.  I had some cording on hand, so I tied one end around a donut with a square knot and wrapped masking tape around the other end.

Now my son can thread or bead the donuts onto the cord/string.  The masking tape keeps the cord from fraying and makes the end a little more stable for threading.

I left 2 long chunks of noodle after we had 20ish donuts.  For some reason he loves to carry these longer pieces around too.  Kids are so fun!

The above photo is before the masking tape.  We had a hard time without it, but with the tape, he had fun stringing his beads. Another bonus, he does try to bite these and cannot seem to get a chunk out of them.  Awesome!  All-in-all, this is a win.  It's easy to make and he loves it!

Craft time: 5 min
Play time: 20 min, used often
Cost: $1 noodle
Age: 15mths
